What is the right age to start to learn violin?

Adults can start at any time. Their success is based on how willing an adult is to commit to practicing.
For children, starting at the right age is a key to the success of their lessons. I accept students from the age of 5. If a very young child has a keen desire and wants to learn to play violin, we can use Suzuki’s “Mother Tongue” method. This method leads the child, by repeated stimulation, to develop an ability and make it his own. Thus the child learns the instrument the way that he learns how to speak.

What does a good teacher mean?
Good teaching is everywhere the same. It involves patience, constant encouragement, enthusiasm, psychological insight, technical and musical proficiency, use of good materials and methodology, and above all, imagination.
As a good teacher, he must be able to teach effectively through demonstration than explanation. The teacher must motivate his students to have great interest in practising and achieve their goals. Being a good teacher, he will never find an excuse for a poor student.

How to select an instrument for a beginner?
It is very important to select an instrument in right size for a beginner who is a child. It directly influents the playing posture and the technical development. The size of the instrument is not only decided by the child’s age, but also by the length of the left arm. The following tips may help:

Length of the left arm
Violin size
45 cm
1/4
45-53 cm
1/2
53-60 cm
3/4 or 7/8
60 cm
4/4

Since children grow up fast, they need to change their instruments at the proper time.
